Inauguration & Keynote Speech: Expeditions into Extreme Affordability by Prof. Jim Patell, Stanford University

Inaugural Speaker: Prof. Jim Patell, Founder of Extreme Program at Stanford

Prof. Patell is a business professor with engineering training. He is a co-founder of the d.school and the Design Course for Extreme Affordability at Stanford, in which interdisciplinary student teams design products and implement their use in developing countries. Prof. Patell will share his experience in Extreme program (http://extreme.stanford.edu/). Extreme and SIGHT share a similar theme of education with SIGHT, and both are also built on an interdisciplinary platform.

Speaker: Dr. Annie Chen-Green, Chair and Medical Director of One-2-One Charitable Trust

Dr. Annie Chen-Green from One-to-One Charitable Trust will have dialogue with students, to inspire them with her decades of field experience serving the poor and her vision on how to lift up the next generation. One-2-One is an NGO partner with SIGHT.

Speaker: Ms. Lucy Lau, Doctors without Borders (MSF)

Ms. Lucy Lau, an engineer working for Doctors without Borders, will talk about how young people can contribute to global health.
