After a nice break in Week 5, SIGHT Camp is back Week 6! The old software and hardware teams from last year came back to share about their ups and (mostly) downs! The Campers then had a crash course on brainstorming ideas.

See all those Campers there? What a night! What a Pitch Night! Our Campers threw out tons of ideas on Week 4, and it cannot be better! We all had a blast listening to the ideas our Campers had to offer, from the Tippy-Tap to water filters to noodle balls! The Campers then went straight ahead to speed date their potential teammates! Good golly it was good fun.
Week 3! We had some very good friends coming along, with NGOs from our own city, Cambodia and China visiting and giving us their picture back home. We were so happy to have Channat and Dr. Sophen of One-2-One Cambodia with us again, and we also welcomed newcomers from Hong Kong Mucopolysaccharidoses & Rare Genetic Diseases Mutual Aid Group (HKMPS) and officials from Guizhou China. Helen Keller International (HKI) also reached the Campers via Skype! Campers learnt all about the situations of these organisations and how to help them! Next week, it will be the Campers' turn to shine, when they shall put forth their ideas and speed date their teammates!Week 2 of SIGHT Camp was packed full with greatness, thanks to Rich Cox's seminar and workshop from the Design Thinking Series. Campers, Leaders and other students joined together for great jams of creativity with [Design Thinking Workshop - Ethnographic Interviewing + Prototyping], check out the photos below!
Everybody! SIGHT Camp is off!
Hello world, this is SIGHT Camp's first blog post!
The Camp is starting next week and the team here can't wait to get things started! We've got great stuff coming this semester and will keep you all posted here. Stay tuned for regular updates! Just in case you are still wondering what is SIGHT Camp and can't see the description column to the left, let us recap in English: SIGHT Camp is a 1-semester long non-credit bearing program, where SIGHT Campers are exposed to a myriad of global health issues via engaging with NGOs. Campers will follow-up on issues they find interest in, and from them develop solutions to solve these issues. The Camp is a accelerator of these ideas, providing workshops on design thinking, prototyping, product development, etc. The best ideas will stay and become fully-fledged SIGHT Projects in the Spring Semester. Cheers! |
